Met Tony at 7:20, took dogs to Whipendale Woods. Went for a nice steady 5.1 mile 50 mins run round the woods, golf course and Park. Cooler than it has been with a misty rain. Looking forward to a nice bacon and scrambled breakfast in the deli. Had a bit of a rest at home, breakfast in the deli then got ready for my main run of the day.

I left on my own at 1pm, ran through Kings Langley Village, Apsley, Boxmoor, Berkhamsted and Northchurch. Weather turned out to be nice and made a change running through busy villages. Ran through Dudswell and joined the canal. Had a great run through Tring and Marsworth, another runner went past me by the lakes, I tried to keep with him for a while but could not and had to slow back to my pace. I carried on through Cheddington and into Leighton Buzzard. I stopped at Cheddington to speak to Deb and Andy Fogden at their lock side home. Stopped for 10 mins and paid the price when I got going again! Struggled a bit approaching LB but got back into my stride and had a good last 4 miles. Got off the canal at The Globe Pub and ran back into LB. 23.9 miles in 3Hrs and 36mins. First long run on my own and not a bad time. Pleased, could have murdered a pint but had a cup of tea!
