Up at 5am, feeling tired but not so rough, mind not strong! 1st run put off and back to bed until 6am, up, quick wash and brush up and a Barocca, kit on and ready for Tony and our woods run at 7am. Freezing cold wind but no frost. Lovely run, plenty of runners and walkers about and all happy! 6.5k in 39 again. Felt great after, quick stretch off, not in o...ur normal part of the car park, two cars parked there with no gap, engine running in one and very steamed up windows! Did not want to disturb! Anyway, busy day passed quick and back home, kit on, a good roll off of the tight legs, quick warm up and off to the club for 7pm. 9 mile run planned at a good steady pace. A few less in our group today, no Bill but he did bring the kettle back and no Rich or Tom! Hope to see Ed make his return soon? Anyway, now very cold, we set off along through Boxmoor all chatting at a steady pace. This did not last long, we turned up towards the Grapes pub and Matt Watt shot ahead and pushed the pace! Vince, Guy and John joined in and I struggled to hold on for the next couple of miles, down hills being the hardest. Everyone was in the mood to work hard and keep the pace going, I found my rhythm up Fletcher Way held my own and managed to keep going to the end. Very good hard run complete and feeling great, the day off might of helped! 14.08k in 56"26, for me a very quick training run. Great cup of tea in the club with a jaffa cake, all talking about this Sundays marathon training run. I thought there might be about 50 runners, found out there has been hundreds in the past! Now back home and icing! Very tempted to join the lads in the pub after training but resisted, not desperate for a pint but after training it does go down well! Still, London Pride on the 21st April sounds good to me and worth the wait!
