Up at 5am whacked the snooze and had another half hour! Up at 5:30, left hip hurting, back still a bit stiff but not as painful. A quick wash and brush up, kit on, quick warm up and very light stretch and off for the first run of the day at 6am. Same route as yesterday, half hour earlier but for some reason much busier? Very heavy and stiff legs, I found it... again tough going for the first 2k. All good I found a nice rhythm and bobbed along, not quick but ok. Nothing open through the village on the way back! No waft of coffee and Croissants, disaster. Back home and 12.31 in 59 minutes dead. Feeling very empty and thirsty, Barrocca consumed, quick change out of sweaty kit into more running kit for my run with Tony and the dogs in Whippendell. We got to the woods at 7:25 and set of in the dark, legs felt heavy and took a while to get moving. Nice steady pace to the park and up the hill. I at this point ran out of petrol. I felt a bit light headed and a bit sick but most of all empty! Anyway, I plodded on, pushed a bit quicker and we finished 6.5k in 39"38. Good stretch off and back home for a big breakfast re fuel! Big bowl of porridge and banana, 2 granary toast and jam, an Activia, grapefruit juice and a cup of tea, spot on. Intended to do more during the day but hip and back tightened and I wimped out.
