Day 13- Training Blog 6th January 2013
Up at 7am, back feeling a bit better but still not great, decided to not do the Regents Park 10k but still going to the Cross Country in Welwyn. Guy and Bill from GVH meeting at my house at 12 noon so decided to go with Tony and my dogs, for a nice steady morning run through the golf course at 8:30. Not a good start my dogs got attacked again by this great big dog who's owner thinks it is ok for his dog to go round off a lead attacking other dogs! This is the second time this has happened so I gave him my opinion on the situation and then we proceeded with our run! Dogs should be allowed to be off the lead and run free through the woods as long as they are sociable with other dogs and humans! Anyway nice misty 6.5k steady run complete in 40 minutes and back home for a stretch. Porridge, banana and honey consumed along unfortunately with a 400g Ibuprofen, I really want to run today! In the Gym for a roll on Calf's and IT's then over to Haileybury School with GVH for the County Cross Country. Very tough course, the best I think I have run on but it found me out. Through woods, across streams, lots of mud and lots of hills! I was not competitive but did my best and enjoyed the run and endured the pain, 11k in just under 48 minutes. Good showing by Gade Valley Harriers. Now at home and its on with the ice packs!
